We loved Emma Mills’ debut novel First & Then, and we’re so excited to bring you the cover of her new novel This Adventure Ends!

In This Adventure Ends,
Sloane doesn’t expect to fall in with an intense, all-consuming group
of friends when she  moves from New York to Florida. Twins Vera and Gabe
are who Sloane grows cloest to, and when a painting by their late
mother goes missing, Sloane decides to track it down.

“One of my favorite books as a kid – and beyond! – was From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg,” said Mills. “In The Mixed-Up Files,
a young girl named Claudia runs away from home with her little
brother—though Claudia makes the great distinction that it’s not just
about running from somewhere, but running to somewhere. I loved that notion, and I really wanted This Adventure Ends
to capture a family doing much the same—running away, in a sense, but
also running toward something. It’s a bit of a quest story, and a bit of
a love story, though not just romantic love. There’s the love between a
father and daughter, between siblings, between best friends. It was a
ton of fun to write, and I can’t wait to share it with you in the fall.
In the mean time, I’m absolutely thrilled with the cover, and so excited
to show it off!”
