I would say that these concerns are not wrong or anything, but that your work is amazing and that people come and go for all sorts of reasons. I admittedly know nothing, but have the sense that if you do what you feel makes you most pleased personally, and just pursue it in that way, the numbers may actually even turn around. You know, even audiences change, and I just suppose that it’s more important to try to feel confident in creating passionately(?), and sharing boldly(?) than any initial reaction. Someone will think it’s great even if you don’t, and vice versa, and what I’m trying to get to here is spines. Actual spines. My advice is awful.
I appreciate your thoughtfulness as a person who makes things. I also hope that you’ll feel freer to pursue what seems creative or interesting to you, without having to worry quite as much about whether we’ll be on board with it.
